Best Before Café only collects essential personal data to communicate by email (if you have supplied an email address) and occasionally by telephone (if you have supplied your number).

Why do we need your data? We need to collect and store your name, email and/or mobile phone number so that we can let you know the following:

  • Shop events and customer opening times
  • Volunteering rotas and opportunities

We check what personal data we have for individuals annually and remove it if we no longer need it. If you leave BBC as a volunteer, we’ll make sure we remove and/or delete any data, we don’t need to keep.

What do we use it for?

When you volunteer or are a customer at BBC:

  • To ensure we can contact you in case a session is cancelled or if we want to keep you informed of events.

As a delivery customer at BBC during lockdown:

  • To ensure we can contact you in case a delivery is cancelled or delayed.

We won’t ever use this information for anything else unless you give us your active consent for that additional use.  You can withdraw your consent at any time by contacting BBC on the details below.

Do we share your data with anyone else? 

  • We will never give your data to third parties for them to use.

What can you ask us to do?

At any time you can ask to view, update or correct any data we hold on you. You can also ask that we stop using your data or that we erase it. To request any of these please contact the BBC Administration on: bestbeforecafe@gmail.com.
